The Keeper of The Fabled Market and Take Flight Design Workshop
I see beauty in an arbitrary universe, and seek the connective strands that form themselves into stories and likely messages, mostly from the most quotidian of objects. I see a dish of pears softening as a woman like myself whose juiciness mellows. Or I see the ragged edge of a stamp that will cause nicks on the fingers on the sender of that love letter; things so ordinary, they become extraordinary by their mass. Mostly, I look at clothes, and the fleeting whims of my clothing choices, because I dress myself as I see myself inside, my secret life of miracles and gratefulness. Please visit my website The Fabled Market. There are good things to read and see; imagine we are all caravan riders, and each night we gaze into different campfires; we will see the fantastic and factual, the past and a parallel future in pictures and pretty phrases. That is what you will find, and a cascade of photos of me, trying to be an enchantress. Structured into the items and services that I describe will be the ability for you to have them for your own. I am on Best Places in the World to Retire because I am fascinated by the accouterments of travel and the wonder of being abroad, and undergirding my imagination is the logical and sequential distinction of facts, which is what I have blissfully found here. Through husbandly urging, I have started to reach past my galaxial frontiers (which can be measured in nano-increments) to the members of Best Places, through my graphic shirts and interviews and the ebook and study I illustrated, which will be at both the Best Places in the World to Retire website and my website, The Fabled Market, under the On the Coconut Wireless heading. You'll find yourself stumbling upon my other "coconuts," set there for your bemusement. All God's Blessings, Jet

Aug. 22, 2015 Airman Spencer Stone and his friends, who first met at Freedom Christian school in California, were on a European vacation, traveling on a train towards Paris. A commotion woke him up. They were alerted that a terrorist had shot a passenger in another car. Stone sprung into action after his friend, Army National Guard Specialist Aleksander "Alek" Skarlatos, told him "Lets go." Stone reacted immediately. He ran towards the assailant, 30 feet away, and took the AK-47 out of the would be mass murders hands. But the assailant fought and kept pulling out weapons, including a hand gun and a box -cutter, cutting Spencer Stones neck and severing the tendon in one of his thumbs. His two other friends and a British passenger arrived soon after and they subdued the terrorist. Then Stone tried to stem the gun shot wound in the neck of a passenger, also an American, who was the first to confront the terrorist. There was too much blood for a t-shirt, so Stone used his fingers to apply pressure to the first responder, all the while, he himself was bleeding. We are so proud of this young airman, this brave American and his friends. His valor was appreciated by the French, who awarded him a medal of valor and the US Air Force will be nominating him for the Airmans Medal, the services highest award for non-combat bravery. God Bless Airman Spencer Stone. You are a true Christian and a great American. Your Airman Spencer Stone American hero on a French train: $19.99. My Independence Day 2015 t-shirt worn for the celebration at our house, where we with another family said the pledge of allegiance, read the Declaration of Independence, then swore on it and affixed our names, sang patriotic songs, and discussed the revolution in our country occurring that is wrenching us away from our God given freedoms and the rule of law established by our Constitution and down the pit of tyranny and slavery to the state. Todd Beamer was a passenger of United Airlines 93 who led others against the terrorists who had commandeered the plane. Before he and others broke into the cockpit where the terrorist had taken control, he was heard reciting the Lords prayer and, the 23 psalms. Other passengers soon joined in. When it was time, he asked his supervisor, who was on the phone with him, to tell his family that he loved them. His was heard saying to his fellow passengers, "Lets roll." The recording that was recovered has the voices of the passengers breaking into the cockpit and trying to overwhelm the hijackers. The plane dove into a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. All souls were lost. It is assumed the averted the plane taking more lives at the intended destination Washington,DC. Todd Beamer is an American hero and is remembered for his bravery and leadership. In Hawaii, on the island of Oahu are neighborhoods that make up Honolulu and the little towns on the windward, leeward, mauka (mountain), kai (ocean), and Koko Head or Eva Beach side of the island. Sometimes the street is named after the town or neighborhood, some have libraries that are named after the neighborhood. I spent many an hour at the McCully- Moiliili library having walked all the way down University Avenue . These t-shirts are a tribute to some of my favorite neighborhoods in Hawaii. Petal, seed and nectar hoodie, Manoa, Hawaii, yours for $39.99. In Waimanalo is a drive-in with a great plate lunch of kalau pork and laulau, which I would order to eat at the picnic tables that faced the open seas. Petal, seed and nectar Waimanalo, Hawaii yours for $39.99. Inland and far from Hawaii, this summer my clothes evoke our 50th state and its floral loveliness. I wore tropical flowers everywhere, my tops were like diving into a tropical arrangement from a hotel lobby, shoes had floral themes that were like a vacation for my feet. I scored a purse that was traditional because it was woven with flowers that bloom alone in the middle of the Pacific. Nuuanu-Pali, Hawaii, Peta, Leaf & Nectar backpack yours for $18.95 Nuuanu- Pali on the island of Oahu is where the warriors of that island could not repulse Kamehameha, who would later be the first Hawaiian to conquer all the Hawaiian Islands. He became King and lord over all. Nuuanu- Pali is also a beautiful craggy part of the mountain range that uplifts the center of the island of Oahu. It is also a beautiful watershed area that is beautiful to drive.

Korean Airport FashionWhat would it be liked to be known for one's airport fashion, that was the question on the Polyvore's contest. I was thinking less of what I would wear and more what I would eat and who would be my seatmate. Packing suggestion to Hawaii made by my dog, Rose WhiteIn 2013, I remember thinking this is the year for orange and coral. I bought this purse for my sister to use as a beach bag for her Hawaii trip. I liked it so well, I bought another one for myself. That summer, my bags of choice were made of cotton. I also liked pairing orange with pink. Maybe because I grew up in a house that was pink and orange. This is my packing strategy for going to Hawaii, things that people do not think to bring, but should. Hawaii has a variety of beaches, which require different strategies. The little bags have gone kayaking up the stream in Haliewa town and wrapped around my waist walking around the Polynesian Culture Center on crutches. Top right: Red first aid kit; dried ginger to combat air sickness/ car sickness (going up mountain roads like road to Hana on Maui; lip balm held in a Hawaiian print pendant; aloe to take care of sunburns; an olive water repellant shoulder bag to take when exploring waterfalls; and a lime waterproof canister to take into the water with your keys. One time my mom and I were walking in downtown Honolulu and she declared that she had a headache while we were on the crosswalk. By the time we reached the other side of the street to the lei shop, I had pulled out an aspirin and water. She was impressed. My motto: Be Prepared.
Next to Rose White: Tropical print bag in lightweight cotton; reef walker shoes to use while snorkeling off Haunama Bay; coconut butter to slather on before going on at night; mini first-aid kit with bandaids to take care of blisters while you shop along Waikiki; lava lava cover-up to throw around your waist or tie around your neck when you leave your place in the sand to buy something cool from the shaved ice truck. I have always tried to dress and appear the best I can while in Hawaii. Reason: I seem to run into men who were my admirers when I was single. Not just for a Hawaiian vacation, but anywhere you think there will be fruit stands, or you foreseeing picnicking: plastic chopping board to cut passion fruit (which you rarely see sold in the stores); a sharp knife for cutting fruit that you have never seen before or learn the name ( it happens); collapsable bowls and cups when mixing lemon and salt to freshly caught fish from the fishermen, eaten raw; paper plates, tableware and napkins, for sharing guava cake from Leonard's Bakery with people you've just met; and plastic bags to tote snacks to the beach and give away to others. The thing that I buy and then never bring back are boogie boards. I had two boogie boards when I was in school. They were gifts from my suitors, who knew how crazy I was for boogie boarding at Bellows beach. One told me he found it inside his locked car. ( The things guys will say, to not make you feel obliged to them.) Now when I go to Hawaii, I buy a boogie board and on the last day, find a kid who needs one and give it away. My Favorite Take Flight Design Workshop Polyvore Designer: crazygirl1104This little angel on Polyvore, a new inductee, spreading her creative wings, has taken my designs and created sets that are pure sweetness and youth. She has correctly identified the flower on my hoodie and created a set that is full of ease and familiar favorites, the chucks and the Jansport backpack, the jeans that are already well-worn. But then she infuses her outfit with Schiaparelli pink and rubber bracelets, and her plant is graphic and brightens up the set with green. Then she puts in a prominent place, what I think is her way of looking at life, with love that is spontaneous and without reason, a love that pours freely towards those that catch her eye: the love from a girl whose heart wants to touch others with its gently touch.
Thank-you crazy girl, you have provided my clothes with lovely sets to live in with your special skill. Comfy Hibiscus and Tank Top Parka will be gifts from you I will always treasure. I bless you all your life. I give you my aloha. Just when you thought it would be safe to come back to my blog... It was because I wanted to learn, to look closely at the most terrifying thing (okay, second most terrifying thing) about a man-eating shark, to see its ominous dorsal fin for all its intricacies and salient features, and how a simple triangular shape, when sticking above the water line can be primordially fearsome. Get the Shark Fin Identifier black grocery tote, so you can look gnarly when you bring home your Trader Joe's Italian roast or driftwood from the sea, yours for $23.95. Another feeling of dread is when your computer develops a virus and a loud audible warning comes on to tell you that you've been attacked. This happened as I was perusing Refinery 29's fashion website. After two alarming encounters, R29 and I had to bid adieu, for I had racked up too much time huddling with the Geek Squad technical team. Like a virus that announces its infection, seeing a fin close enough to see the rear notch of a shark as it circles 'round you, you know, you probably are going to do some shark boxing and kicking. I thought of a day at a temperate beach with cold Atlantic water and skies as grey as a mako shark. But I would be safely onshore, in my midnight blue board shirts and long-lined hoodie that fits closely around me, padding around in my platform slides, catching the sea air in my crochet earrings, carrying my black shark fin identifier tote in cotton twill that holds my folding bamboo beach fishing rod and tatami mat. Expect shudders of...delight when others see you swinging this canvas shark fin identifier tote in black $23.95 here.
One of the most moving things I have ever done was look through a high powered microscope in vivid detail the celestial bodies way above us. It nearly made me cry to see the planet surfaces so near. Every day, I look out my backyard onto the crest where the Mt. Lemmon Observatory in Arizona is perched, and where I saw the stars burning. On July 17, 2015, on another observatory in the middle of the great Pacific, snow fell on the volcano that holds up the telescopes. I made this t-shirt because as a kid in Hawaii we thought it was so funny in balmy Hawaii where the warm trade winds blow, on the Big Island of Hawaii, sometimes snow will fall. Summer Snow on Mauna Kea Volcano Observatories July 17, 2015 There is a village of observatories balancing on top of Mauna Kea where the telescopes track the stars that are like frozen crystals in the sky. You can have this moment when they watched under snow cover here for $19.99. I drew the observatories easily because we frequently go to Kitt Peak Observatory on the Indian reservation in Arizona to walk beneath their slender shadows. I had thought that to have a t-shirt of a different Hawaiian vacation where the snow was on the somber community next to the stars, and then back, to wear it with frosty colors in the summer heat. At in Flagstaff Arizona, I made tracks on fresh snow beside the little and olden Lowell Observatory near the break of the new year. Maybe next year, Hawaii will be visited, maybe next time the snow will frost this dormant volcano and I will be there. Until then, this t-shirt can be a celestial gift for $19.99. It is as tempting as the plant that tempted Rapunzel, these fruits grown in my neighbors yard come twice a year, the sweetest in summer, figs that are soft and tender when squeezed between fingers and thumb. They harden quickly off the branch, and though through drying they can be preserved, one still wants them when they were pliant and moist. Pluck yours off here for $19.99. (Sorry about the extra shadow behind my t-shirts. Gimp is not cooperating as I upload my mock-ups.) June 3, 2015, we had these figs picked from our neighbor's yard, purple and plump, ready to eat out of hand slowly, so not to let the moment pass too soon. However, a few days later, a pineapple on my pink tank top shows how my taste swing from fruit to fruit. Nonetheless, how cool it is to feature gorgeous fruit between your breast. (Did I just write that?) Summer Backyard Figs: One looks at the fig, this open fruit and one sees the resemblance to one's greatest secret. All yours here for $19.99. The chapel in Saint Mark's Catholic church for weekday mass, Oro Valley, Arizona, May 2015 Blessed be God Forever is my opening prayer for Take Flight Design Workshop. Lonely and distraught, the singer Alana Morissette said she prayed to God to send her a man to marry. God granted her prayer. This t-shirt blesses God in return for all his gifts. I wanted to start my designs on Sun Frog by honoring God first. Funny, how we always ask for Gods blessing, but we forget that we can bless God too. He created us because he wanted to love us. It is natural that we love him. Get your Blessed be God Forever here for $19.99. (The link will take you to other color options.
